According to Engadget, they’ve got reliable sources telling that the next generation iPhone and iPad, which are the Apple iPhone 5 and iPad 2 respectively, will use Qualcoom chipsets instead of the Infineon chipsets used in the GSM version of iPhone 4. The recently announced Verizon iPhone 4 (CDMA) also uses the Qualcomm chipset.
